The reports are free to download, but they are far from being "ready for a business system".
The real problem isn't whether the report exists, but how to turn import shipment, arrival and forecast data scattered across fortnightly PDF / HTML reports into structured time series your business systems can fetch in one call and track over time.
-
01
Data is scattered
Sugar, dairy, oils and oilseeds, meals and meat are in different reports, each published fortnightly, so your systems have to download and assemble them issue by issue.
-
02
Format: PDF / HTML
The official reports are published as PDF / HTML with shipment, arrival and forecast figures embedded in the text, so there is no direct system integration — you have to read and key them in yourself.
-
03
Inconsistent definitions
Each report carries several definitions such as current period / month-to-date / next-month forecast, and sub-categories (beef, mutton, pork) plus the unit (tonnes) all need unified modelling.
-
04
Maintenance costs keep piling up
A fortnightly cadence means ongoing download, parsing and data-entry effort, and missed issues easily break the continuity of your analysis.
From scattered periodic reports to a directly callable structured time series
A report issue passes through six auditable stages to become stable, structured, linkable JSON.

The value of an API is more than "returning the report to you"
GooFuture's core value lies before the data reaches the API: turning import shipment, arrival and forecast data scattered across multiple PDF / HTML reports into a time series data model that is program-friendly, linkable and maintainable.
Structured report
Extracts shipment, arrival and forecast text from the fortnightly PDF / HTML reports.
Unstructured reports → structured fieldsDefinition normalisation
Unifies the current period / month-to-date / next-month forecast definitions and the unit (tonnes) so systems can match them.
Multiple definitions → unified definitionCategory standardisation
Unifies naming for the five categories — sugar, dairy, oils and oilseeds, meals and meat — and their sub-categories.
Report text → standard fieldsReporting period marker
Records the reporting period, publish date and next reporting period as a traceable basis.

The questions worth confirming before integrating a bulk agricultural import data API
Straight answers on public reports, reporting period definitions, update frequency and commercial integration.
The report data is public — why do I still need this API?
If you only need to read a report occasionally, the official MoC Department of Foreign Trade channel is enough. GooFuture is built for teams that need continuous monitoring, cross-period analysis, system integration and unified definitions — parsing import shipment, arrival and forecast data scattered across multiple PDF / HTML reports into structured time series you can get in one call.
Where does the data come from?
Data comes from the Bulk Agricultural Products Import Reports publicly issued by the Department of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China. Coverage spans five categories — sugar, dairy, oils and oilseeds, meals and meat — one issue per fortnight in PDF / HTML. GooFuture collects, parses, cleans, standardises, links and aggregates the raw reports and delivers them via API.
How often is the data updated?
Reports are published fortnightly (data as of the 15th and month end) by the MoC Department of Foreign Trade. We sync after each new issue; the latest sugar report covers data as of 2026-06-15 and was published on 2026-07-28.
Which fields can I query?
The import report lookup API returns report category, reporting period, sub-category, import shipment volumes (current period / month-to-date / next-month forecast), import arrival volumes (current period / month-to-date / next-month forecast), unit (tonnes) and arrival breakdown by customs office.
What do the current period / month-to-date / next-month forecast definitions mean?
The reports are based on importer-reported data: "current period" is the actual shipment / arrival within the reporting period, "month" is the calendar-month cumulative, and "next-month forecast" is importers’ forecast shipment / arrival volume for the following month. The API returns them under unified definitions for trend and arrival timing analysis.
How are you different from the official report publishers?
The official reports are published as PDF / HTML, one issue at a time, with no direct system integration. GooFuture parses the reports, normalises definitions and standardises categories into a single call, with time series, by-customs data and subscription push. All raw data comes from public reports.
Can I integrate the data into my own research / SaaS product?
Yes. The API can be used in internal systems and integrated into market research, supply chain and trade SaaS products; commercial usage is governed by the applicable plan and service agreement.
Which agricultural categories are covered?
Coverage spans the five categories in the MoC Department of Foreign Trade Bulk Agricultural Products Import Reports: sugar, dairy, oils and oilseeds, meals and meat. Each is further broken down (for example meat includes beef, mutton, pork and their by-products).
You no longer download, read and key in PDF reports issue by issue yourself.
From collecting the public reports to shipment/arrival parsing, definition normalisation and reporting period linking — we handle it all. Your systems just call the API.
